The correct answer is Motilal Nehru .
The committee that was formed to defend the accused in the Kakori Case was chaired by Motilal Nehru. The Kakori Conspiracy Case was a famous court case in the Indian independence movement in which a group of revolutionaries attempted to rob a train carrying British government funds in 1925. The case resulted in the hanging of four revolutionaries, and the imprisonment of several others.
Motilal Nehru was a prominent Indian nationalist leader and a leading member of the Indian National Congress. He was a lawyer by profession and had played an important role in defending the Indian freedom fighters who were arrested by the British government during the independence struggle. In the Kakori Conspiracy Case, he led a team of lawyers to defend the accused revolutionaries and fought for their release.
The committee formed under Motilal Nehru’s chairmanship was known as the ‘Kakori Defence Committee’. The committee played an important role in mobilizing public support for the accused revolutionaries and in raising funds for their legal defense. The Kakori Case had become a cause célèbre in the Indian independence movement and the defense committee was able to use the publicity generated by the case to galvanize public opinion against British rule.
Motilal Nehru went on to become one of the most prominent leaders of the Indian independence movement, and his son Jawaharlal Nehru became the first Prime Minister of independent India.
