The Chachnama takes its name from Raja Chach of Sindh, whose son Dahir stood against the Arabs under Mohammad bin Qasim. Dahir was the last hindu ruler of Sindh. Sindh was attacked by Qasim in 712 CE.
The author of Chachnama was Ali bin Muhammad Kufi.
