Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has advertised 63rd Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination for vacancies in Various Departments. Here we discuss the syllabus and Exam Pattern.
Exam Pattern: The competitive examination comprises three successive stages viz: –
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
- Main Examination (Conventional)
- Interview
Preliminary Examination (Objective Type): The preliminary examination will consist of one paper (General Studies) of which answer sheet shall be on OMR sheets.
- Time: Two Hours (120 Minutes)
- Maximum Marks: 150
- No. of Questions: 150
Main Examination (Conventional): The main examination will consist of three compulsory papers & one Optional Paper. The total marks assigned to Written Examination is 900. The applicants will have to obtain at least 30 marks in Hindi paper which will be qualifying in nature.
1st Question Paper :
- Subject: General Hindi
- Maximum Marks: 100
- Time : 3 hours
2nd Question Paper :
- Subject: General Studies Paper I
- Maximum Marks: 300
- Time : 3 hours
3rd Question Paper :
- Subject: General Studies Paper II
- Total Marks: 300
- Time : 3 hours

- Current events of national and international importance: This will also include questions on Games & Sports.

- Polity and economy of India
- The economy of Bihar After Independence
- Indian National Movement and Bihar Contribution in INM
- Geography of India & Bihar
- General Mental Ability
Note: The candidates are expected to have general awareness about the above topics with special reference to Bihar.
