Assistant Engineer Pattern
The candidates must attempt a total of 6 papers in the written test. Each paper will be similar in terms of duration and marks. The duration will be 1 hour and the total marks will be 100. All the papers will be objective type. The candidates need to score combined marks of 40% in the case of general category candidates and 32% for SC/ST candidates. examination pattern for the BPSC AE written test will be as follows.

Assistant Engineer Syllabus
The written examination will consist of 6 papers. The compulsory papers will be General Studies, General English, General Hindi, and General Engineering. These four papers will be common to all the aspirants. The fifth and sixth papers will focus on the fundamental subjects of the concerned stream. The questions from these papers will revolve around the core subjects. All the papers will be objective type in nature.
General Studies
In order to successfully clear the General Studies paper, the aspirants must study the following topics and subjects. Besides that, the candidates must read newspapers in order to develop awareness regarding more such topics.
