What is the Full form of GNM?
The GNM full form is General Nursing and Midwifery. Aspirants can opt for the GNM course just after completing their class 12. The GNM course is of 3 years duration, a 6 months duration internship is also mandatory. Medical institutions and hospitals require qualified caretakers, and that’s what the GNM nursing course prepares them to be.
Who Can Study GNM Nursing Course?
The basic eligibility criteria for the GNM course are as follows.
- 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board.
- 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by the Indian Nursing council.
- 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre.
- Registered ANM with a pass mark.
GNM Nursing Full Form: Admission Process
The GNM nursing admission will depend upon the marks of candidates scored in their class 12 board examination. The GNM admission in India will be granted both direct and through the university/institution-level entrance examination. Government or prominent institutes grant GNM nursing admission through an entrance test conducted by state-conducting authorities or institution authorities.
