SSC Stenographer Syllabus: Exam Pattern
SSC Stenographer exam is conducted in two stages:

The Computer Based Test (CBT) has three sections as tabulated below:

Candidates who clear the CBT will be eligible to appear for the Skill Test.
SSC Stenographer Syllabus For Skill Test
The Skill Test is conducted to test the speed of candidates in noting down dictations. Candidates must have knowledge of shorthand (use of abbreviations and symbols to quickly note down what is being spoken).
Candidates will be given 10-minute dictations in English and Hindi to note down. The expected speed is 100 words per minute for Stenographer Grade C posts and 80 words per minute for Grade D posts.
In addition, there is a transcription of the dictation on a computer. The details of the tests are tabulated below:
